The Cottage on the shores of Loch Fyne is just steps from the water, sit at the window and look out on the ever-changing loch. You might spot jumping fish, sea birds, seals and porpoises. Quietly situated in the lovely hamlet of Leachd just 3 miles south of the village of Strachur.
Strachur is the home of the famous Creggans Inn,serving gorgeous food and a huge whisky bar, the house is a fantastic base for exploring all that Argyll has to offer. The cottage has wonderful views of Loch Fyne and the beach is less than a minutes walk from the front door. Perfect for crab fishing with the kids or launching your paddle board or kayak. Wild swimming is very popular here too and there are many points of access to the beaches along the shores of the loch.
Modern, cosy and well equipped, it has a large lounge with wood burning stove and stunning views over Loch Fyne. There are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin, one of the double bedrooms is downstairs and opposite a bathroom which is helpful for anyone with mobility issues. The large, airy dining kitchen has everything you need including oven, hob, fridge, coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher. Utility room with freezer and washer/dryer. 2 showers, 1 bath.
Parking for 3 cars is just outside the front door in the driveway.
There are some wonderful restaurants only a few miles away such as the award winning Inver and The Oyster Catcher at Otter Ferry and The Coylet. Portavadie Marina and Spa is only 25 miles away and makes for a lovely day trip. Inveraray, The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Ardkinglas House and Gardens and the famous Tree Shop are also within easy reach. Other great day trips to the Isles of Bute, Gigha and Mull are all super adventures for the family. There is kayak hire in Lochgoilhead and Dunoon. The Cowal Peninsula is Argyll’s Secret Coast and there are numerous hill walks and coastal walks for you to discover.
There are lots of great walks and things to do in the local area, it is 25 minutes from Inverary, 1.5 hours from Oban and Glasgow and a short drive to many places of interest.
